Song of Dresden's Sorrows

Ashes, ashes, all around
Embers glowing, cinders abounding
Silent Screams and echoing Misery

Wash my face and flush out the Taste
Say a Prayer, do not Forsake,
Accept this Rose and Await Our Fate

Ashes, ashes, all around
Embers glowing, cinders abounding
Silent Screams and echoing Misery

All’s awash in Suffering
Fast We stood but Brimstone’s raining
Scripture Warped to Evil’s taming

Ashes, ashes, all around
Embers glowing, cinders abounding
Silent Screams and echoing Misery

Roses charred like paper
In a Garden Grave
I scurried to Save the Fairest one
But the Pillars came in Waves

Ashes, ashes, all around
Embers glowing, cinders abounding
Silent Screams and echoing Misery

Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust
Sinners Teach Us The Ways of Lust
Oc nu neheth windes blast

Ashes, ashes, all around
Embers glowing, cinders abounding
Silent Screams and echoing Misery

Ei, ei! What this nicht is long
And ich with wel michel wrong
Soregh and murn and fast

Ashes, ashes, all around
Embers glowing, cinders abounding
Silent Screams and echoing Misery

In a tear-chocked cry
As the Ashes sting my eyes
I ask Dear God:
S’all this wind blāw’ for evermehr?

  1. I got a very Disturbing Image in my Mind of an ash-clad Survivor slipping the stem of a Rose of Cinders ‘mongst the grasps of the Scorched Remains of his Lover, having been the Fairest young Woman, her Dirndl lay - as Sama’el’s Snow - Charred about her, and a Shockwave stripping the Rose, Dress and her Seared Flesh away.

The Anguish which merely knowing of these Horrors brings is as if a Valkyrie has come for my Innocence, and a Siren is Tempting with lovely Whispers that Bid me “Come Hither”.

  2. Though the Lyrics were Predominantly “Penned” by myself (Cameron “Johan” Szwec, for the Record), I did Excerpt Lines from the Otherwise-Unfitting “Miri It Is” (Merry It Is); a Middle-English Eulogy which Laments the nearing end of Summer, of Anglo-Saxon Origin, by an Unknown Poet.

The Final Line, however, was Inspired by a rather Grim Folk Ballad of Scottish Origin; “Twa Corbies” (Two Crows/Ravens; a Contrast of another Scotch Folk Ballad, The Three Ravens), Penned in Gaelicized English, in which the Narrator Chronicles a Discussion twain Twa Corbies of their next Meal - “a new slain Knight”! The final line is “The wind s’all blaw for evermair”.

Thus, as “blaw” is {Coincidentally; having one Etymology from “blāwan” [Old English for “blow; Derived, in turn, from Proto-Germanic (also carried over into Proto-Norse, Old Norse and Old Saxon) “blēanan” (from which Old German “blähen” is also Extracted) - Sourced to Proto-Indus-European a.k.a. Proto-Eurasian a.k.a. Proto-Aryan a.k.a. Adamic “bhle”], and another from Proto-Germanic (also carried over into Proto-Norse, Old Norse and Old Saxon) “blēwaz” (from Proto-Aryan bʰlēw)]} both Middle-English for “blow” and Old English for “blue”, I Restored the Accent Mark yet Apostrophe’d it to Distinguish it from the latter. Additionally, I Converted “mair” to the German “mehr” for Application in this Lamentful Vociferation.

It might be an unusual Dialectic however, given as Dresden was a Cultural Center (in Fact, Incidentally, it was Discovered just this month that what would one day become Dresden was amongst what is perhaps The Progenitor of European Civilization - that of Biblical Japheth!), being The Florence of the Danube, it’s by no means unthinkable that one would be Well-Versed in Germany’s own Archaic Dialects or even those Affiliated with it.

It should be Noted, however, that such Languages as Old Saxon and Proto-Aryan Words would have used a “double v” (‘less Simplified, for Convince’ Sake, to a singular one); being as “u” and thus “double u” were Absent in P.I.E., and only came into Old Saxon (as well as other Languages of Derivation from The Proto-Aryan Language) after the Reunion of other Whites with their Lost True Isra’el’ite a.k.a. Proto-Semite a.k.a. Hebrev Brethren - whom were sent into Diaspora by The Esau-Edomite a.k.a. Pseudo-Semite (Jewish and otherwise Arabic) Invasions [Resulting in Occupation and The Enslavement of Semites in Babylon (whence, Unfortunately, His True Isra’el’ites eventually Adopted certain Aspects of those Foreign Cultures!) by Pseudo-Semites and other Mongrel Hordes!]!
